BOULDER, Colo. – Thirty-eight of D1A Rugby’s finest underclassmen have been invited to participate in the USA Rugby AIG Men’s Junior All-American Winter Camp from Saturday, Dec. 19, through Tuesday, Dec. 22, in Casa Grande, Ariz.

The invitees represent 14 D1A teams. Arizona and Lindenwood, off the strength of impressive recruiting hauls in recent years, lead the way with a combined 15 athletes getting the call for the Winter Camp.

MJAA interim Head Coach and Lindenwood Director of Rugby JD Stephenson and his staff are tasked with identifying the team that will take on Canada Feb. 13 in a fixture to determine which country will compete in the 2016 World Rugby U20 Trophy.

“This will be the main identification piece that is done for our qualifier against Canada,” Stephenson explained. “We will look to use the following assembly in January as a development, team cohesion, and final filtering process of players prior to the last assembly that will see the name of a squad that will be immersed for a week prior to the qualifier in Austin.”

In all, 27 D1A players will attend the Winter Camp, as 11 of the invitees are unavailable for the three days of training, followed by a fourth and final day when the group will wrap camp with intrasquad scrimmages.
