BOULDER, Colo. – Reece Czarnecki and Gabe Farley have been named the D1A Players of the Week. Mid-South sides Lindenwood and Davenport put in such impressive performances in the April 18 opening round of the Playoffs that either team could vouch for several players to be the D1A Player of the Week. So, one player from each school earns recognition in the first-ever Co-Player of the Week selection.
Davenport’s Czarnecki and Lindenwood’s Farley each had similar performances for their respective teams. Both started in the back three and each danger man had two first-half tries.
An AIG Men’s Collegiate All-American in sevens last year, Czarnecki has been a consistent performer on the wing for the Panthers over the years. His game-breaking speed will be needed when Davenport faces No. 5 Army April 25.
An integral part of both the Lions’ sevens and 15s sides, Farley is a former Junior All-American who has been effective as a center, but has more recently become Head Coach JD Stephenson’s top choice at full back – where he will start tomorrow against Air Force in the Quarterfinals.
