GLENDALE, Colo. – The Big Ten champions Wisconsin roll into Mile High on Saturday to challenge the Buffaloes for a spot in the D1A Quarterfinals. Kickoff is 2 p.m. MT at Infinity Park in Glendale.
Wisconsin is coming off a 31-10 Big Ten Championship win over Ohio State while Colorado is still smarting after a 17-20 loss to sworn rivals Colorado State, a game that cost them an automatic quarterfinal spot and the West Conference title.
On paper, the two are pretty close. In conference play, the Badgers are averaging 32 points a game and the Buffs are averaging 30. Defensively, Wisconsin is giving up an average of 14 points a game and CU is giving up 15.
Wisconsin’s strength is their defense and their fitness, but they are going to be playing in Colorado’s thin air, which is never easy on visiting teams of any sport.
The winner of the game on Saturday will advance to the D1A Quarterfinals next weekend (April 27) and play St. Mary’s (California #1).
