D1A Rugby: Canterbury D1A Top 20 – Week 15

LAFAYETTE, Colo. – Big wins out of the PAC Rugby and Red River conferences have two teams on the rise in this week’s Canterbury D1A Top 20.

Previously ranked No. 14 Arizona walloped then-ranked No. 11 UCLA over the weekend. The 39-point win by the Wildcats produced a swap in rankings between the two PAC sides. Arizona, which opened 2017 ranked 16th, climbs the rankings to No. 11. Meanwhile, the loss drops the Bruins to No. 14.

Defending Red River Champions LSU have yet to drop a conference match this season. Its latest victim was the Texas Longhorns. The Tigers received a hat trick performance from flanker Brennan Falcon on their way to blowing out Texas, 64-12.

Top-five squads Cal and Saint Mary’s posted one-sided wins over the weekend to hold their respective spots at No. 1 and No. 3. The Golden Bears used solely freshman and sophomore in their dominant victories of Cal State Maritime and Santa Clara, while the Gaels traveled to Colorado and shut out No. 15 Air Force, 55-0.
