SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Last Friday, Feb. 22, the Cal Poly Rugby team joined forces with Cal Poly Athletics Teams to get behind the Feed My Starving Children Organization. Hundreds of local volunteers turn up at the Mountainbrook Community Church to be apart of the Cal Poly SLO CRU MobilePack that hand-packed meals specifically formulated for malnourished children, so they could be shipped to nearly 70 countries around the world.

In 2011, the MobilePack events produced 34.2 million meals. In 2012, the MobilePack events are set to produce 45 million meals.

Nate Nunno one of Cal Poly Rugby’s local residents, led the players at the event. “It was an inspirational experience seeing the Cal Poly students work with local SLO residents towards the common goal of providing children around the world with the opportunity to grow and work without worrying about where their next meal will come from.” Nunno said.
