D1A Rugby: Fall Week 3 Rankings

D1A continued to get its Fall proceedings underway last weekend. Two ranked squads, Notre Dame College and Navy, played against fellow D1A opponents; while 6th ranked Army holding their final preparations before their conference play kicks off this weekend. With Minimal ranked teams in action, there was minimal change to the rankings.

The only change to the rankings saw Grand Canyon and Central Washington swap places. Central Washington now occupies the 12th slot in the rankings while Grand Canyon is in 13th.

However, this weekend has potential for big changes in the rankings. There are a total of six ranked teams playing this weekend, including two top 20 match ups. #5 Penn State will start their Rugby East title defense off against the #11 Notre Dame College, while #8 Navy will travel to New York and take on #20 Iona.

Elsewhere, #6 Army will play a two games this weekend, their first against St. Bonaventure on Friday evening and then will play their second on Saturday against Buffalo. #18 Ohio State will also be in action when they take on Purdue and launch their 2018 Big Ten campaign.

With so much action ahead, don’t expect the rankings to look the same as they do a week from now.
